PeaZip is a free software application, which provides user-friendly file archiving and file management tools, focused on security features (strong encryption, secure deletion, file shredding), works as an application for compressed RAR, ACE, ZIPX and other files and formats and can convert them to alternative formats like 7Z or ZIP, which are not covered by patents or licensing restrictions replacing file managers like WinZip and WinRar.
Creating RAR files with PeaZip is only possible if WinRar is installed on the system, as standalone rar compression support is not possible due to licensing restrictions. The export of the new RAR5 is supported out of the box on the add-ons page, and the alternative UNRAR / UNRAR5 add-on can be downloaded.
