Real Temp: Your computer's CPU temperature monitor

T

Real Temp is a free processor temperature monitor for all types of Intel single-core, dual-core, multi-core, and Core i7 processors. Each core has a digital temperature sensor (DTS), which reports the temperature data in relation to the TJMax which is its safe operation, ie the maximum temperature for each CPU.

As the CPU heats up the distance between the current temperature and the maximum decreases which means that if your processor runs at its limits for a long time away from the problems-crashes it may present, it is strained and loses its functionality in the long run.

The difference between Real Temp and simple temperature measurement programs is that you can specify the level of maximum temperature that you want your cpu to develop, where you can also set it for example to sound an alarm to make sure your processor has reach its limits. For single-core processors, run (after first unzipping the application) the executable RealTemp file, while if you have a dual-core processor, run RealTempGT.
