SystemRescueCd : Managing your computer after a crash

SystemRescueCD is a Linux system rescue disk available as a bootable CD-ROM or USB stick to manage or repair your computer's system and data after a serious problem.

It aims to provide an easy way to perform administrative tasks on your computer, such as creating and editing your hard disk partitions.

It comes with a large number of parted programs, partimage, fstools, and basic tools (editors, midnight commander, network tools).

It can be used on both Linux and Windows computers and requires no installation as it can be booted from a CD, DVD or USB stick, but can still be installed on your hard drive if you wish. The kernel supports all popular file systems (ext2/ext3/ext4, reiserfs, btrfs, xfs, JFS, vfat, ntfs), as well as network file systems (samba and nfs).
