Logisim is an educational tool for designing and simulating digital logic circuits. With the simple toolbox interface and the simulation of the circuits as you create them, it is quite simple to facilitate the learning of the basic principles of logic circuits.
With the ability to create large circuits from smaller circuits, and design cable combinations with a single mouse movement, Logisim can be used (and is used) in the design and simulation of integrated CPUs for educational purposes.
Logisim is used by students at colleges and universities around the world in a variety of classrooms, from simple logic courses in general education computer science programs to electronically organized courses, and in six-month computer architecture courses, free software available under the terms of the GNU General Public License, version 2. Runs on any platform that supports Java, version 5 or later.
