Tox started a few years ago, The idea was to create an instant messaging application that would work without requiring the use of centralized servers. 

The system will be distributed, peer-to-peer and end-to-end encrypted, with no way to disable any of the encryption features. At the same time, the application would be easily usable by ordinary people without practical knowledge of cryptography or distributed systems. 

Whether for companies or governments, digital surveillance is now widespread. Tox is easy-to-use software that connects you to your friends and family without anyone else listening to you. While other branded services require you to pay for features, Tox is completely free and provided with no ads forever.

Thanks to its portability and simple interface, it's a lightweight program that doesn't sacrifice security and speed with unnecessary frills. Users can choose to create a chat group for text or voice.

The purpose of \is to provide users with a messaging application that does not rely on centralized servers for the messaging service. Additionally, the app is equipped with end-to-end encryption.

You do not need to register for a service, just open it and create your profile, then start adding friends or give your friends the Tox ID so they can add you. You can find the Tox ID in the settings tab.

Which one in particular, after downloading the application run it type a name for your profile. Copy the Tx ID and give it to whoever you want to chat with. 

After running the application, he must add you in the search/frends field and in the next tab paste the Tx ID you gave him. 

From there you can start your conversation. Everything you do with Tox is encrypted using open source libraries. 

The only people who can see your chats are the people you talk to as it has no central servers that can be shut down or forced to hand over data.
