Tray Weather is a simple, free application for retrieving and displaying weather information for a given geographical location in a small dialog box on the Windows system tray. When running, the application is in the windows taskbar, showing the current weather icon.
The disk icon tool tip shows location, weather description, and temperature. If there is a network error and the information cannot be retrieved, the icon will update the error and display the error icon.
The location of the computer can be obtained automatically using its services http://ip-api.com/ or be entered manually by specifying latitude and longitude coordinates. Weather information and maps are obtained from OpenWeatherMap.
To receive weather information from OpenWeatherMap, you must first register ( it's free) and enter the API key in the Tray Weather configuration window. However, you should keep in mind that you will have to wait about 2 hours for the key to be activated.
