Foto-Mosaik-Edda is a software that allows you to create photo mosaic photos from your own computer. 

A mosaic photo consists of tiny photos that are placed together in such a way that from a distance they combine to create the appearance of a new image.

To create a photo mosaic photo, you can use digital photos from your collection, for example from your last vacation or your family.

The app analyzes the photos and then adds them to one or more databases from which they are drawn to create your mosaic. 

The way it works is not difficult, although you will probably need to do some testing until you get the desired result.
