Install Linux Lite on your computer UEFI mode
- Start your computer and go into your system BIOS and check that the boot order is set so that the DVD and USB devices are set to boot first.
- This varies from BIOS to BIOS.
- We advise you to disable Secure Boot and make sure UEFI is set to Enabled in your BIOS.
- Once you have set up the BIOS, insert the DVD disc or USB stick into your computer and restart your computer. You will see the following screen:

- Make sure Boot Linux Lite 6.4 Live System is highlighted and press enter to start the live session.
- This is also a good way to check that all your hardware is supported. If you're having trouble booting and just have a black screen, try the second option, Linux Lite 6.4 compatibility mode.
The other options are:
- Boot Linux Lite 6.4 Live System, boot directly to the Linux Lite desktop. direct install Linux Lite 6.4, install Linux Lite directly without booting to desktop.
- Linux Lite 6.4 Compatibility Mode - use this option if you have problems with the first 2 options.
- Check for filesystem corruption - checks the installation image for errors, if none found it will boot to desktop as usual, restart and shutdown
Please note that some of these boot options may or may not appear as in the image above as the number of options changes from version to version. If you wish to burn the ISO to USB and boot from it, you can use Etcher software or Rufus
