Installing Windows is a process that many of us have done at least once. However, with newer versions of Windows, Microsoft has added the requirement to sign in with a Microsoft account during the initial setup.
While this can offer some advantages, such as synchronized access to data and applications, it can also be undesirable for many users who prefer to use a local account. In this article, we will look at how you can bypass this requirement and create a local account during Windows setup.
1. Disable Internet Connection
The simplest way to bypass the Microsoft account requirement is to disconnect from the internet during installation. Follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi before starting the installation.
2. Start the Windows installation.
3. When you get to the point where it asks you to sign in with a Microsoft account, the option for the local account should automatically appear if there is no internet connection.
2. Using a Fake Account
If for some reason you can't log out of the internet, you can use a fake account to bypass the requirement:
1. On the screen that asks you to sign in with a Microsoft account, select Create account.
2. Enter a fake email address, such as `fakeemail@fake.com`.
3. When prompted for a password, enter random information.
4. An error message will appear. From there you will have the option to create a local account.
3. Using the `OOBE\BYPASSNRO` Command
Another method is to use a command that bypasses the Microsoft account requirement:
1. On the screen where you are asked to sign in with a Microsoft account, press Shift + F10 to open the command prompt.
2. Enter OOBE \ BYPASSNRO and press Enter.
3. The computer will restart and return to the installation screen.
4. Now, the option to create a local account will be available.
4. Edit the installation file
For more advanced users, there is the option to edit the Windows installation file to remove the Microsoft account requirement:
1. Download a tool like NT Lite to edit the Windows ISO file.
2. Open the ISO with NTLite and go to the installation settings.
3. Turn off the Microsoft account requirement.
4. Save and create a new ISO file.
5. Use the new ISO file to install Windows.
In summary, the Microsoft account requirement during Windows installation can be annoying for some users, but there are several ways to bypass it. Whether you choose to log out of the internet, use a fake account, run a special command, or edit the installation file, you can configure your computer to your liking.
